Mrs. Omolola Olawunmi, the widow of Flight Sergeant Olasunkanmi Olawunmi, who died after the Nigerian Air Force plane crashed at the Federal Capital territory on Sunday has recounted the last conversation she had with her husband before his untimely death.
In a report by theinfong.com, Mrs. Omolola who was visited by the Ekiti State Governor, Dr. Kayode Fayemi at their residence revealed that her husband told her to expect his call back when they arrive at their destination and she is still waiting for that call.
“When I got home on Sunday, I called him that ‘dear, we have returned from church,’ ‘he said we are taking off now, I would call you back when we land.’ I am still waiting for that call.”
Governor Fayemi shared consolatory words with the bereaved wife and led a prayer for God’s protection for the family of the late military personnel.
“We do not want this, we did not pray for this, it is not our desire, it is not our expectation. If this is your wish Lord, we can only pray that you give your children the courage, the fortitude to bear this unfortunate development.
