Samuel Ajayi Crowther : He was caught as a slave matured 13 by the Portugese and was liberated on the high oceans by British enemy of slave exchange powers who stored him at Freetown, Sierra Leone.
Instructed by the Church Missionary Society(CMS) in Freetown and London, he was appointed a cleric in 1843. In 1864 he was blessed the primary Anglican Bishop in Africa.
He was a productive author who deciphered the Bible and the Book of Common Prayer into Yoruba and other West African dialects.
He established schools and preparing universities, where he supported the investigation of the Gospel, customary subjects, and cultivating strategies that permitted understudies to raise fundamental yields and cotton as wellsprings of pay.
In 1891, Crowther endured a stroke and kicked the bucket on December 31 at 82 years old. His grandson Herbert Macaulay got one of the primary Nigerian patriots and assumed a significant job in closure British pioneer rule in Nigeria.
